Reporting to Senior Manager- Business Controls, the role holder will oversee a team of auditors and will be responsible for planning, executing and reviewing Internal Audit assignments for business support functions with the objective to assess and report on the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls in the Bank.
1. Support the development and monitor implementation of the internal audit strategic plan, budgets, procurement plan, staff training and development.
2. Support the development and monitor implementation of a risk based annual audit plan.
3. Support in preparation and periodic update of the resource plan.
4. Manage planning, execution and reporting of assurance audits and advisory while maintaining thorough and high-quality results within defined audit plans and budgets.
5. Proactively identify emerging audit risks, assess the Bank’s mitigation measures and update the annual risk-based plan accordingly.
6. Maintain productive relationships with process owners throughout the audit cycle and maintain a collaborative work relationship with other assurance teams to effectively plan and execute audits.
7. Manage documents, files and electronic information in an organized, efficient and secure manner.
8. Track the implementation of internal and external audit issues and prepare periodic reports to Management and Board.
9. Implement an effective internal quality assurance program to achieve conformance of internal audit practices to Global Internal Audit Standards and Bank’s Internal Audit methodology.
10. Develop and implement a robust audit methodology to maintain compliance with GIAS.
11. Support implementation of audit tools to improve audit efficiencies - use technology, data analysis tools and other modern tools to drive automation.
12. Participate in identified Bank wide projects for pre and post implementation assurance and ensure timely risk advisory support to project management steering committees.
13. Prepare Management reports and Board Audit Committee reports.
14. Perform administrative tasks and other Bank-wide duties as assigned.
15. Provide leadership and guidance to the audit team and foster a high performing culture through coaching and mentorship.
16. Implement the performance management framework, set performance measures for the team and conduct performance reviews.
1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Business Management or any other business-related discipline from a reputable university.
2. Master’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a Business related discipline is an added advantage.
3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / ACCA qualification is mandatory.
4. Membership in a relevant professional institute and in good standing is mandatory.

7. Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
At least six (6) years’ relevant Internal Audit or External Audit experience with at least three (3) years’ experience in audit supervisory role in an institution of similar size and complexity or an established audit firm.

2. Knowledge of Internal Audit Methodology (e.g., International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) 2013).
3. Strong data analytics skills and use of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs).
4. Strong leadership and people management skill in audit work environment.
5. Good work organization skills for effective audit assignment coordination.
6. Detail oriented and attention to detail.
7. Strong report writing skills with demonstrated experience in Board and Executive reporting.
8. Knowledge of continuous auditing and monitoring and control test designs.
