MARKET DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (BUSINESS ANALYST 1), FINANCIAL MARKETS DEPARTMENT

Job Purpose

The role holder will be responsible for supporting in the development and execution of product development plan/s through gathering and analysing of market research data. He/She will be responsible for working effectively as part of the team to deliver on the Key Result Areas and demonstrates competencies of his/her role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities
1. Prepare draft proposals or business case for Market Development initiatives.
2. Contribute and prepare draft reports for projects and activities within the Division.
3. Contribute to sharing of ideas on the development of new products and enhancement of existing ones and participate in development of changes for approved enhancements.
4. Provide support to the Benchmark Bonds Program in line with the objectives for the function.
5. Support the Infrastructure Bonds (IFBs) Program in line with the objectives for the function.
6. Represent the Section in industry standing committees or taskforces such as Financial Sector Stability & Research subcommittee of the FSC, MAC of the EAC, FinTech and the Bond Market Development Committee, among others.
7. Propose opinions on policy reforms to strengthen the government bond market.
8. Develop new products to serve different investor preferences.
9. Supporting in the development and execution of product development plan/s through gathering and analysing of market research data.
10. Responsible for coordinating the advertising, public relations, and marketing communications activities to meet product objectives in liaison with the Communications Office.
11. Participate in CBK Editorial Board for the CBK E-Newsletter and other publications.
12. Coordinate responses to public and media enquiries on Government securities market issues.
13. Participate, contribute, and record proceedings of delegate meetings for the Division.
14. Prepare reports on product expectations, market size, market uptake, market share.
15. Think critically and apply broad knowledge base to propose practical solutions and share ideas with Management of potential routes of action based on research and background knowledge of the latest market/industry developments.
16. Prepare ad hoc and periodic reports on activities related to their roles and submit to the supervisor in a timely manner.
17. Any other responsibility as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, Information Science or similar field from a recognized institution.

Work Experience

At least two (2) years’ experience within the Financial Markets environment.

1. Public financial and Domestic Debt Management.
2. T-bills & bonds & other Financial Market instruments.
3. Financial markets: Money markets; Capital markets; Derivatives.
4. Analysis: Market analysis; Fundamental analysis; Technical analysis.
5. Investment policies.
6. Banking laws and regulations.
7. Central Banking Operations experience
